A classroom set-up is always going to vary from teacher to teacher. Not everything is by their control either such as the desks provided, technology such as the SMART board, and a teacher will not know how much space is provided including cabinet space until they go in their classroom for the first time. Aside from what a teacher cannot control, this is what I would want in my classroom regardless.
I designed this classroom floor-plan to show approximately how I would like my classroom set-up.

I believe in group work and student collaboration. As they say “two minds are better than one.” I would want table desks where students can sit together at them.

Each student would have a pencil box, pencil, eraser, glue stick, crayon box, and pair of scissors to help them get through the different activities we will do.

I would need a classroom library. It is really important to have different genres of books for different level readers in the classroom.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
A carpet by the whiteboard because I like when students come and sit down on the carpet while I deliver a lesson. Ideally, the carpet would be separated into their own squares. A smart idea from my CT was when she put duck tape on the carpet to make it into separate squares for students to sit in.

An organizer for each student for when papers go home to their parents.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Dry Erase Markers for the whiteboard.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Dry erase sponge to erase marker.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
A clock to tell the time.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Unifix cubes
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
2 Bathroom Bears (Great idea from my CT), when a student needs to go to the bathroom, they put a bathroom bear at their spot.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Electric pencil sharpener.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Alphabet on the wall (for earlier grades.)
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Kelso’s Choices Poster
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
A teacher’s desk.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Teacher’s lap top
————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Paper for students to use. Both loose-leaf and blank paper.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————–
A large box of pencil crayons.
———————————————————————————————————————————————————————–
First Aid kit for when students have minor injuries.
