Image of the Child

When it comes to my vision of what is important with regards to the image of a child, I am a believer and advocate by looking at the child from a holistic perspective. I focus on the child from an empathetic view pertaining to the emotional, psychological, social, and physical aspects. When I make decisions as a teacher, I want to make sure that I am acting in such a way that will result in a healthy outcome for each student in these areas. I want my students to come to my class each day feeling that they belong within a community where they are allowed to be themselves and be treated kindly by other students and me.  I am a strong advocate for people treating people with respect and do not tolerate any forms of bullying within my classroom walls. I also make sure that I take time to really listen to children when they come to me and want to talk. Oftentimes, I will have students talk to me about personal matters, and I want to make sure that they feel they can trust me so that they can come to school each day in a hopefully more positive state of mind.
